What is the privacy policy?
The Israeli Internet Association (I.R.) (hereinafter: “the Association“) respects the privacy of users of the Association’s website, which operates at the Internet address www.isoc.org.il and at any other address at the discretion of the Association (hereinafter: “the Site”).
These terms will teach you what the privacy policy is on the Site. They review, among other things, the manner in which the Association uses the information you provide to it and the information that will be collected about you when you use the Site. In this policy, the expression “personal information” means any information that can be reasonably used to identify you, including your first and last name, your address, your telephone number, etc.
This policy forms an integral part of the Terms of Use for the Site. The policy is formulated in the masculine form for convenience only, and it applies equally to all genders. In addition, this policy also applies to your activity and participation in any of the Association’s online communities, professional forums and mailing and distribution lists (hereinafter: “the Online Communities“). with mandatory changes as applicable.
Reporting a violation of your privacy

Providing details and personal information to the association
Using the site does not involve registration or providing details and personal information. However, various areas and sections of the site, such as registering for membership in the association, registering for various events organized by the association, registering for the association’s mailing lists and online communities, contacting the association via online contact forms found on the site, and more – may involve registering and providing personal details and information, such as full name, address, telephone number, active email address, organizational affiliation, and additional details as necessary and the circumstances of the case.
The fields that must be filled in will be explicitly marked. Without providing the requested details in the mandatory fields, you will not be able to register in the relevant area of the site or for the online community in which you wish to participate. You must provide only correct, accurate, and complete details, and you hereby confirm the accuracy of the details you have provided. The details and personal information that you provide, as well as additional details about your use of the site (as detailed later in this policy), will be retained by the association.
You are not required by law to provide the details and personal information. Providing them depends on your consent and free will – however Providing incorrect information, or failing to provide all required information, may prevent you from completing registration or using some of the site’s services, impair the quality of the service provided to you, and impair the ability to contact you, if necessary.
We may collect additional information when you contact and correspond with the Association, for example when you submit any requests or inquiries to the Association.
When you provide personal information from a third party, you declare that you have received their express consent to provide the information to the Association, for the purpose of using this information in accordance with this policy.
Information collected during use of the site
When you use the site, or any of the online communities, the Association may collect information about your practices regarding the use of the site or the relevant service, including content you have uploaded or published, information you have read, the pages you have viewed, the services that interested you, the location of the computer and the Internet address data (IP address) through which you accessed the site or the relevant service, the type of operating system you use, the type of end device you have, and more. In addition, the Association may collect and use the services of third parties to collect and analyze anonymous, statistical, or aggregated information in connection with such use, including information relating to your activity on the Site.
Social Networks and Personal Information You Share
The Association provides users of the Site with tools for sharing and linking content from the Site via social networks and various online services. Some of the Association’s online communities may also be operated via third-party online platforms. Please note that the use of such social networks and online services is external and separate from the Site and is subject to the privacy practices of those services. This policy does not apply to the activities of these social networks or any online service operated by a third party.
The Site and the online communities may also include content submitted for publication on behalf of the Site’s users and various participants. This content may also include personal information. Please note that the content you upload to the Site or to the relevant community is not private. or confidential and that you should have no expectation of privacy regarding them. You should exercise caution and exercise discretion when submitting personal information that may identify you or others.
Use of Information
The details and personal information that you provide and the details that the Association collects during your use of the Site or any of its services will be used in accordance with the provisions of this policy or in accordance with the provisions of any law, for the following purposes –
- To enable you to use the Site, the content contained therein and the services it offers, including registration and active participation in the Site sections and online communities;
- To identify you during your repeated visits to areas that require registration and to save you from having to enter your details each time;
- To improve and enrich the services and content on the Site, including creating new services and content that meet the requirements and expectations of users, as well as changing or canceling existing services and content. The information that the Association will use for this purpose will primarily be statistical information that does not personally identify you;
- To allow you to adapt the services on the Site to your preferences;
- To send you information from time to time regarding the services and content of the site, activities related to it and the association, surveys, newsletters, etc. Such information may be advertising in nature and may be sent to you via text messages (SMS), emails, or other electronic means, as detailed in the terms of use of the site;
- To contact you when the association believes that there is a need for this;
- For the purpose of analyzing, monitoring and providing statistical information to third parties. This information will not personally identify you;
- For the proper operation and development of the site and the association’s online communities;
- To enforce the terms of use of the site, to comply with the requirements of any law, regulation or other legislation, and to assist competent authorities and any third party, when the association believes in good faith that it must do so;
- For any other purpose specified in this privacy policy or the terms of use.
Providing information to third parties
- The Association will not provide third parties with the personal information you have provided and the details collected about your activities, except in the following cases –
- To the extent necessary for the proper provision of the website services or the online community;
- If you violate the provisions of the website’s terms of use, or if you perform actions deemed by the Association to be unlawful or attempt to perform such actions through the website, or in connection with it;
- If the Association receives a judicial order, or a request from a competent authority, ordering it to provide your details or information about you to a third party;
- In any dispute, claim, lawsuit, demand or legal proceedings, if any, between you and the Association and/or anyone on its behalf;
- In any case in which the Association believes that providing the information is necessary to prevent serious harm to your body or property or to the body or property of a third party;
- The Association may transfer your details and the information collected as a result of your use of the Site to companies or other organizations affiliated with the Association, provided that they use this information only in accordance with the provisions of this Policy;
- For the purpose of providing and sharing anonymous, aggregated and statistical information with companies or other organizations affiliated with the Association, as well as with suppliers, business partners, advertisers and any third party, in accordance with the sole discretion of the Association. The Association will not knowingly disclose your identity to them without your consent;
- If the Association organizes its activities or the Site’s activities in a different framework and in the event that it changes its legal structure, including in the event that it transfers the Site’s activities and/or any part thereof to a third party – it will be entitled to transfer to the new entity a copy of the information stored about you, provided that this entity assumes the provisions of this Policy towards you;
- Upon your express request.
Where is the information stored?
The information that the Association collects is stored in its database, which is stored with server hosting and data backup providers, which may also be located outside the borders of Israel. Additional information, as detailed in this policy, is collected and stored by other companies (such as statistics companies, etc.). They may also store the information outside the borders of the country. Your consent to this policy also constitutes consent to the storage of information abroad and its transfer outside the borders of Israel.
Cookies
The Association may use ‘cookies’ on the site for the purpose of its ongoing and proper operation, including to collect statistical data about the use of the site, to verify details, to adapt the site to your personal preferences, for information security needs, and more.

Information Security
The Association attaches the utmost importance to the security of the information in its systems. In order to protect the information, it operates information security systems, applications and procedures designed to minimize the risks of theft, damage, loss or unauthorized access to information.
However, there is no certainty that these applications absolutely guarantee that personal information will not be disclosed or stolen from the databases. Therefore, the Association does not undertake, and you cannot reasonably expect, that the services and information systems used by the Association will be immune from unauthorized access to the information stored in them. By using the site and its services, you are aware of and agree to these limitations.
Right to inspect information
According to the Privacy Protection Law, 5741 – 1981, every person is entitled to inspect, in person or through a representative authorized in writing or by a guardian, the information about him held in a database. A person who has inspected the information about him and found it to be incorrect, incomplete, clear or up-to-date, may contact the owner of the database with a request to correct the information or delete it. If the owner of the database refuses, he must notify the applicant in the manner and manner prescribed by the regulations under the Privacy Protection Law. The applicant for information may appeal the refusal of the owner of the database to allow inspection and the notification of refusal to correct or delete information in the manner and manner prescribed by the regulations.
Please note that deleting information may prevent you from continuing to receive services from the site and result in the cancellation of your registration on the site. Information required by the association – including documentation of actions you have taken on the site – will continue to be retained by the association by law, but will no longer be used for the purpose of contacting you. If within 30 days you do not receive notification that the information that the Association has been requested to delete is indeed deleted under this section, you will be entitled to apply to a court in the manner prescribed by the regulations under the Privacy Protection Law, to order the Association to act as stated.
Changes to the Privacy Policy
The Association may change the terms of the Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes are made to the Policy, a notice will be published on the home page of the Site 30 days before the changes come into effect. If other non-material changes are made to the Policy, a notice will be published on the home page of the Site 7 days before they come into effect – unless changes are made to the Policy in accordance with the provisions of any law, or a requirement of a competent authority, in which case the changes will come into effect in accordance with the provisions of the law or the requirement as stated. Continued use of the Site after the change in the Policy indicates your agreement to the revised Policy. If you do not agree with the updated version of the Policy, you must cease further use of the Site.
